Facade Cladding at Amajuba Disaster Management Centre (Newcastle, KZN)

Showcasing our project at Amajuba Disaster Management Centre in Newcastle, KZN ~ a stunning modern architectural structure for which we installed the complete facade and sun control louvre structures.

Facade cladding is increasing popular because of its ability to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a building while also providing added protection against the elements. In the last few years we have taken on an increasing number of cladding projects, and so this was a welcome challenge for our installation teams.

The popularity of facade cladding is also due to its ability to improve the energy efficiency of a building, by insulating and protecting the interior spaces from extreme temperatures. Furthermore, cladding can help to extend the lifespan of a building, protecting it from weather damage, and reducing the need for maintenance and repairs.

A popular choice for facade cladding is the use of aluminium composite panels, also known as ACPs – due to their durability, versatility, and low maintenance requirements. ACP panels come in a variety of colours and finishes, giving architects and designers the flexibility to create visually appealing and unique buildings.

These panels are made up of two thin sheets of aluminium, with a core material in between. This construction gives the panels strength, stability, and insulation properties, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, from malls and office buildings, to high-rise towers.

For the sun louvres we supplied and installed the hard working 110HC Panel System Sun Louvres by Hunter Douglas. The 110HC offers excellent sun and glare control, helping to reduce heat gain and improve thermal comfort within the building – perfect for the KZN heat!

They are also quite customizable, allowing us the flexibility to make them up for the specific sun control needs of each project. The 110HC Panel System is designed for performance and durability, making it a perfect solution for modern commercial or public buildings where sun control is a priority.

The outcome is quite a masterpiece of contemporary design, exuding sophistication and stature. Our team at Poro Aluminium is proud to have played a role in the realization of this iconic landmark, another example of architectural aluminium excellence!
