At Pro Aluminium, we believe in creating spaces that not only reflect the time and place in which they were built, but also possess a timeless quality that transcends the constraints of the present. This is a sentiment echoed in the words of Frank Gehry, who stated that “Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.”
Recently, we had the opportunity to put this philosophy into practice with this installation at the Swallow Hills Estate in Kempton Park. Our team was tasked with manufacturing and installing a complete set of windows and doors, including stacking folding doors and a pivot swing door for the main entrance. In addition, we installed top-mounted frameless glass balustrades and a modern glass floor.
The glass floor was a particularly interesting challenge for us, as it required precision and expertise to ensure its seamless integration into the design. The result, however, was well worth it, as the glass floor adds an element of boldness and sophistication to the overall aesthetic. It not only adds to the expansive feel of the space, but makes a bold statement, that makes it quite conversation piece too!
